Designed with comfort and safety in mind, this gear is fully bound and nylon sewn, and features molded shock absorbing foam padding, curved thumb and retainer, as well as a 2" wide adjustable wrap around Velcro closure. Todays boxing gloves are designed to protect the athletes hands & wrists (less injury and pain) and minimize facial injuries. Less pain allows the boxer to throw harder punches. There are several different types of gloves, such as light training speed gloves, cushioned medium workout bag gloves, sparring gloves and fight gloves. The latter is usually less cushioned and used in the ring only
